509,630. Folding seats. VAUGHAN, E. Feb. 25, 1938, No. 5940. [Class 52 (ii)] In a chair in which the back, or back and arms, is or are pivotally mounted so as to fold down on the seat section 8 by means of. a tube or bar 6 extending across the frame, a release bar 7 disposed parallel to the pivot tube 6 is - adapted to be traversed to engage or disengage catch plates 5 on the pivoted back section 4.. The bar 7 is controlled by springs 9, and the catch plates 5, Fig. 3, have slots 5a in which the ends of the bar engage, and are formed so that the bar is forced to engage the slots when the back is erected.
