611,971. Cathode-ray tubes. COLBORNE, R. H. May 15, 1946, No. 14617. [Class 39 (i)] In an electric discharge device, such as a cathode-ray tube, in which a heat-curable adhesive is employed to secure the cap to the envelope, a high-frequency (10-20 mcs./sec.) electric field is used to heat the cement by dielectric losses. According to the Provisional Specification, if the cap is cylindrical the heating electrodes may be of arcuate form, conforming generally to the curvature of the cap.
