Abstract

576,883. Discharge apparatus. M-O VALVE CO., Ltd., and COSGROVE, C. W. Feb. 23, 1944, No. 3359. [Class 39 (i)] [Also in Group XXXVI] A thermionic valve with the re-entrant portion 2 of outer case 1 terminated by a pinch 4 in which the electrode system 5 is supported by means of support wires 6, has an insulating cylindrical sleeve 11, inserted round the conductors 10, with upper edge 12 touching the walls of the re-entrant portion 2 and lower edge reaching nearly to the inside surface of cap 7, through which the conductors pass to terminals 9. The sleeve prevents cement 8 attaching cap 7 to the valve from entering the well of the valve and forming a bridge between the conductors.
