Abstract

610,932. Thermionic valves. ROBINSON, E. Y., and METROPOLITAN - VICKERS ELECTRICAL CO., Ltd. April 10, 1946, No. 10994. [Class 39 (i)] In an electric discharge tube containing a seal 3 carrying lead-in wires 2 connected to the electrodes and having an external screen 6, the connection 4 to this screen is sealed through the seal 3 and connected internally to one of the lead-in wires 2; the leadin wire may or may not also be connected to an electrode at " earthy " potential. The screen may be a conductive coating or a metal can which partly or wholly encloses the valve. The lead wires 2 and the connection 4 may be disposed at equal angles round the pitch circle; a lead wire may also be placed at the centre of the circle as in Fig. 4 (not shown).
