611,778. Sanitary closets. WEEKES, R. I., and MOFUSSIL DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION, Ltd. May 8, 1946, No. 13884. [Class 26] In a chemical closet comprising a tank 1 having a fixed cover 2 provided with a seat 3, the opening in the cover being formed by a depending flange 4, the seat 3 is adapted to be closed by a lid 5 pivoted at 6 to the cover 2. Secured to the lid 5 is a lever 7 (or a pair of levers) which extend through an opening 8 in the cover 2 and is secured to a pan 9 which fits round the flange 4 so that the lid 5, pan and lever 7 form a rigidly connected unitary structure, and the pan 9 moves in a curved path rearwards and downwards when the lid is closed. The pan 9 has an opening 10 beneath which is fitted a deflector 11 and the tank is provided with a drain valve 12 operated by a spring- controlled spindle 13 fitted with a handle 14, and controlling the outlet to a discharge outlet 16. An overflow pipe 17 discharges into the pipe 16, as the normal level of the disinfecting liquid is indicated at 18. Containers for toilet paper may be fitted to the outside of the tank 1.
