693,413. Valve-discharge water waste preventers; closets. AUE, H. Sept. 24, 1951 [Oct. 7, 1950], No. 22311/51. Class 26 In a closet comprising a flushing water cistern 9 containing air under pressure which is connected to a water supply pipe 38 and to the basin 1 through a riser pipe 11 and flushing valve 13, the cistern is cylindrical and fitted into a chamber 4 integral with the closet bowl and extends with approximately half its diameter underneath the basin, and the flushing valve is sealed to a flushing spout 7 of the closet bowl by means of a spring 15 between the riser pipe and the wall of the chamber. The flushing valve is footoperated by a pedal 37 and Bowden cable 34, and an air inlet valve 50 for the cistern is provided with a channel 49 to the basin in case of leakage.
