Abstract

702,574. Valve-discharge water-waste-preventers. LOCKAIR PTY., Ltd. Dec. 5, 1951 [Dec. 15, 1950], No. 28481/51. Class 26 In a flushing unit for water-closets &c. comprising a float-valve 19 movable within a flushing bell 10 secured over a discharge fitting 12 of a cistern 14, flushing is initiated by a fall of pressure of water in the pipe 33 due to operation of a push-button controlled diaphragm lifting the valve from its seating, and a U-tube 27 provides a water seal which is re-formed after completion of flushing by water from a cup 23 through the concentric tubes 30 and 31. A crimped wire 32 prevents formation of an air-lock in the limb 28. In an alternative form, the cup 23 may be formed separate from the limb 26 and connected to it by means of a second U-tube taking the piace of the tubes 30 and 31.
