Abstract
498,075. Siphon discharge water - waste-preventers. LAW, J. B. Oct. 5, 1937, No. 26889. [Class 26] In an air-release siphon-discharge waterwaste-preventer of the kind in which the lower end 10 of the down pipe 7 from the cistern extends into a water-trap or seal and a valve in the down pipe effects the discharge, the water trap consists of a bowl 12 enclosed in a casing 11 open at its lower part to the discharge pipe 15. An air outlet pipe 22 connects the down pipe with the bottom of the casing 11 on the discharge pipe and contains the valve 16 which is held in its seat 19 by a spring 21 and opened by a push-button 20. A leather diaphragm 24, between the button 20 and the push-rod 17 of the valve, prevents water escaping past the push-button.
