Siphon-discharge water-waste preventers. - A flushing cistern is provided with a siphon comprising a pipe b, a vessel c, and a dome d with an internal wall d<1> and an opening d<3>; air is locked in the siphon by a water seal e<2> in a pipe e, connected to a chamber f containing a valve o, and to a bent pipe g<1> also connected to the chamber and provided with an aperture g<2>. The flush is given, when the aperture g<2> is submerged, by actuating a spring-controlled piston to force air along a pipe h<1>; the valve o is momentarily raised to close an outlet pipe p, and the air is forced to blow the water seal, so that the trapped air escapes through the pipes e, p.
