Abstract
902,250. Ventilating closets; siphon-discharge water-waste preventers. DAVID, H. Nov. 9, 1960 [Jan. 5, 1960], No. 287/60. Class 26. A flushing cistern incorporates a branch pipe B to cistern flushing mechanism-having a syphon A-integral with or attached to the mechanism so that an air-extracting device D can be suitably connected (by a hose pipe C) thereto to extract odours directly from a water-closet pan via the flush pipe G and to improve the syphonic action by creating a slight vacuum in the mechanism. A non- return valve E permits normal flushing. With a "Bell" type cistern the branch pipe is integral with or attached to the 'Bell' head or branched into the 'down' leg.
