Closet basins; discharge fittings; flushing; seatlids; urine receptacles; ventilating; dry closets.- A closet basin is divided by a partition 5, Fig. 4, to form a front urine compartment 6, and a rear soil compartment 8, the latter being normally closed by a slidable cover 9, and having an invertible bottom flap 16. The cover-operating means may operate a flushing valve, and may be connected with the flap-operating means. Connections 23, 24 lead to a ventilating pipe 22, a valve 33 operated by the cover being provided. A dry closet is provided with urine and soil receptacles 28, 27, Fig. 5.
