Abstract
507,908. Sanitary closets. ASSOCIATED CLAY INDUSTRIES, Ltd., and BUTTLE,A.F. Dec. 18, 1937, Nos. 35113/37 and 13254/38. [Class 26] In a water-closet suite having the flushing cistern 1 located with its bottom not considerably above the level of the rim flushing conduit 4 a bulbous projection 15 confined substantially to one side of the substantially vertical part 13 of the siphonic discharge conduit forms a restriction facilitating the siphonic action. In the form shown, an expansion in the conduit precedes the restriction, which has an upwardlyfacing step surface.. The cistern 1 is moulded in one with the closet structure, and supplies through a channel 7 to a flushing-rim 4, and through a conduit 9 to an opening discharging tangentially into the lower part of the basin. The conduit 9 may .extend from the channel 7, only the aperture 6. leading to this channel being then provided in the bottom of the cistern. Modifications are described in which the bottom of the cistern is level with the top of the flushing-rim, and the conduit 9 may be omitted.
