Abstract
521,071. Sanitary closets and bowls. GROENIGER, W. C. Nov. 17, 1938, No. 33493. Convention date, Nov. 17, 1937. [Class 26] A water-closet or other sanitary bowl is supported on the floor by a wall-structure including a transverse wall 15, and is provided at the front with a discharge siphon 29, 30 connected to a horizontal and rearwardly-directed outflow passage 33 which terminates above the floor level and below the lowest point of the bowl within the space enclosed by the walls, means being provided which co-operate with the transverse wall 15 for securing to the end of the passage 33 a connecting pipe 41 leading to the soil-pipe. The connecting pipe may in the form shown extend rearwardly, in Fig. 1, laterally as in Fig. 2, or downwardly through the floor. The pipe 41 is secured by a yoke 43 bolted to the transverse wall 15 and compressing a packing 42. Apertures 37 in the side walls, which may be closed by covers 38, allow access to the pipe connection, and also allow the pipe 41 to extend -laterally through one of them, as in Fig. 3.
