Abstract
619,597. Water closets. ALLARD, P. J. M. T. Dec. 14, 1946, No. 36942. Convention date, Feb. 1. [Class 26] A closet bowl 1 is combined with an inlet pipe 4 discharging flush water through a hole 5, a chamber 2 adapted to receive a cleaning broom 6 for the bowl, and means whereby a part of the flush water is caused to flow through said chamber 2 for cleaning the broom 6, which means may be the openings 3, 5, the hole 5 being positioned so as to leave a residue or no water in the chamber 2. Said broom 6 may have a disc or plate 8 adapted to act as a lid for said chamber 2 and may have means, e.g. of the screw-type, for fastening the lid on the chamber 2, through which water mixed with disinfecting liquid 9 obtained by means of a siphon 11 from an auxiliary chamber 10 through the hole 3, may be discharged. In a modification a pipe section is connected between the flush water pipe and the closet bowl communicating with the broom chamber by inlet and outlet openings.
