Abstract
890,225. Sanitary closets; supporting cisterns. SCHMID, J. H. Dec. 31, 1958, No. 42277/58. Class 26. In combination, a wall-type water closet 10 and a flush tank 12 comprise an open-top bowl 11 having front and rear ends defining a sump terminating at the upper edge in an upper rim with a rear ledge 13 generally flush with the upper edge to support the tank 12 disposed between a wall 40 and the opening of the bowl, supported by attaching means adjacent the wall and spaced from a floor, and a trap 14 comprising a leg, extending as shown from the bowl bottom 18 at an angle greater than thirty degrees to the horizontal directly behind the bowl, and terminating in a horizontal portion 26 of considerably greater length than the diameter thereof, communicating with a siphon leg 25 attached thereto and extending downwardly. In one form a seat 22 is hinged to the ledge 13 at 23. The portion 26 is attached by a flanged portion to the siphon leg 25, which is disposed within the wall 40, is curved and connected through a curved waterway to a pipe 5 leading to a sewer. The closet 10 may be directly or indirectly attached to the siphon leg 25 for support. In a modified form the portion 26 commences at the top end of the leg leading from the bottom 18.
