Abstract

609,538. Reciprocating pumps. TECALEMIT, Ltd., and LE CLAIR, C. C. S. March 13, 1946, No. 7894. [Class 102 (i)] In a lubricating system, a number of pumps 2 are actuated by eccentrics 5 and levers 3 and draw lubricant from the pump casing and deliver it to the appropriate points and one pump is fitted with a larger piston 17 and actuates hydraulically another pump 19 to raise the lubricant from a storage container to the casing of the pumps 2. The pump 19 comprises a piston 21 fitted with a spring-loaded valve 33 and pressed by a spring 48 against a piston 27 subjected to the pressure developed by the piston 17 transmitted through the pipe 14. The pump 19 is fitted with a clip 47 for securing it to the container, a filter 46 and a foot valve 40. During downward movement of the piston 17 the ports 10 are closed and the pistons 27, 21 moved to transfer liquid through the valve 33. When the piston 17 is raised by the spring 17, the piston 21 is raised by spring 48 and lubricant above the piston is delivered through pipe 30A and lubricant is drawn through the foot valve 40. The valves 33 and 40 may be guided on central spindles or in the form of flexible valves. Specifications 389,717 and 417,138 are referred to.
