Abstract
491,336. Reciprocating pumps. HYLAND, C. May 13, 1937, No. 13482. [Class 102 (i)] A piston 3 is pressed into contact with an eccentric 4 by a spring 5 and draws liquid through ports 13 and valve 14 and delivers through a valve 15 and valve 8 to the conduit 11. When the pressure of the delivery rises a relief valve 10 opens and liquid is delivered to the smaller free piston 6 through ports 16 and valve 17 and forces this piston into contact with the eccentric 4. This pump then delivers through valve 18 to the conduit 11. The valve 8 closes and excess liquid pumped by the piston 3 passes through relief valve 19 to the reservoir 12.
