Abstract

376,882. Oscillating cylinder-pumps. MORRIS, A. G., 31, St. Mary's Road, Golders Green, London. May 13, 1931, No. 14152. [Class 102 (i).] A pump comprises a cylindrical cylinderblock 21 oscillating in a cylindrical extension 20 of the cover 17 of a casing 11, the end surface of the cylinder-block being formed with ports 25, which co-operate with inlet ports 31 and discharge ports 32 in the cover 17. The cylinder-block may be pressed against the valve face by a thrust-bearing 26 adjustable by a nut 27, or by spring or fluid pressure. The piston 23 is formed with a big-end 38 embracing a roller-bearing 40 on an eccentric portion 39 of the driving shaft 13. The big end may be guided by legs 41 on the cylinder block, or otherwise. The pump 'may comprise a number of parallel cylinder bores in a single cylinder block, or in separate cylinder blocks.
