Abstract

The multi-cylinder hydraulic pump has a driving shaft (12) provided with a number of eccentric bearing surfaces (25). These bearing surfaces abut against matching surfaces of curved shoes (52) formed integrally with the pistons (30). The pistons (30) which slide in the oscillating cylinders (27) are pressed against the bearing surfaces (25) by the spring (50). The pump is immersed in fluid which is drawn into the cylinders (27) through the non-return ball valves (45) and delivered through the non-return valve (40) to the outlet (29) which also forms the pivot for the cylinder (27). This eliminates side loads between the pistons and cylinders and so reduces wear on the sliding surfaces of these parts.
