Abstract
1436752 Reciprocating pumps and motors K EICKMANN 9 May 1973 22160/73 Heading F1A A pump or motor has pistons 102 with slippers 101 engaging a track ring 228 or an eccentric (11), Fig. 2 (not shown), the slippers being received by recesses 23 in the cylinder block during part of the piston stroke, the recesses 23 being shaped to form projections 134. Hydraulic balancing recesses 142 are provided in the track ring or eccentric-engaging surfaces of the slippers. The pistons and slippers have inter-engaging partspherical surfaces 144 with a hydraulic balancing recess in the piston surface extending over 60-90% of the piston cross-sectional area, Fig. 5 (not shown). The shoes are guided axially of the pump or motor by housing end-walls, (29), (31) Fig. 1 (not shown) or by radial extensions (82-84), Fig. 6 (not shown), of the cylinder block. The eccentric or track ring may be rotatable and the cylinder block fixed, or vice versa. As a pump, Fig. 1 (not shown), the cylinders may be supplied from a charge pump (17) via inlet ball valves (14) and deliver via outlet ball-valves (15). In Fig. 3 (not shown), a rotary cylinder block is axially supported by a ball bearing assembly (30) and engages a face valve (36).
