Abstract

227,778. Trinquart, L. G. Jan. 18, 1924, [Convention date]. Single - acting suction-valveless piston pumps; suction reservoirs. - A lubricator comprises a reservoir a slidably connected to a pump barrel c<1> and carrying a pump plunger g which is kept apart from the barrel by a spring h. The barrel has a delivery valve k and a rounded nozzle e adapted to fit a lubricating nipple. When the reservoir is pushed down the plunger enters the barrel and expels the lubricant through the valve k to the nozzle. When the reservoir and plunger are raised by the spring h, lubricant flows into the barrel from the reservoir. A piston i exposed to atmospheric pressure rests on the lubricant. In the form shown in Fig. 4, the barrel is rigidly connected to the reservoir, and the plunger is reciprocated by a handle. The valve f<1> of the lubricating nipple shown in Fig. 5 is dished on top to form a bearing for the nozzle e.
