Lever - actuated pumps; air, removing; single-acting suctionvalveless piston p u m p s ; mountings; suction reservoirs.-In a pump of the kind described in the parent Specification, the follower piston 12 slides on a guide-rod 6 which has means such as grooves 5, adapted to be engaged by spring pawls 2 on the piston, so that if the rod is pushed inwards the piston is carried with it to compress the lubricant. A stop 13 on the rod enables the piston to be withdrawn from the container. In another form. the rod engages the piston by means of spring-pressed balls arranged in a conical recess round the rod. Air may be expelled through a valve 17. The apparatus may be mounted on wheels 22.
