Abstract

608,691. Thermionic valves. M-O VALVE CO., Ltd., JAMES, E. G., and WARREN, G. W. Feb. 27, 1946, No. 6123. [Class 39 (i)] A thermionic valve with cathode 7, heater 2, grid 3 and anode 8 has a metal extension 11 to the grid which forms an electrostatic screen between the cathode and the anode. The electrodes are fixed between two sheets 12 of insulating material to form a unitary structure which can be supported by rigid connections 13 between two of the pins 9 and the sheet 11. Alternatively, the screen may be divided into two or more parts, one of which is connected to. the grid while the others are maintained at a potential with respect to it. The valve may have any number of electrodes and a double pentode and double triode are described with reference to Figs. 3 and 4 (not shown). Specification 586,676 is referred to.
