Abstract

602,228. Thermionic valves. PHILIPS LAMPS, Ltd. April 5, 1946, No. 10600. Convention date, Aug. 5, 1941. [Class 39 (i)] To improve the mutual conductance of a valve having a cathode 1, a control grid 4 maintained at low voltage; and an anode (not shown) exterior of the control grid, grids 2, 3 at a higher potential than the control grid and having turns aligned with each other and with those of the control grid, are arranged between the latter and the cathode to focus the electrons so that they pass centrally between the turns of the control grid. The control grid may be preceded by three grids whose turns together with those of the control grid are located one behind the other. Further grids may be arranged between the control grid and anode. The subject-matter is identical with that of Specification 567,889.
