594,556. Dressing grinding wheels. COVENTRY GAUGE & TOOL CO., Ltd., and DARBY, W. Feb. 16, 1945, No. 3896. [Class 60] Apparatus for finishing the helical ribs on grinding-wheels is characterised by a freelyrotatable crushing roller having helical ribs thereon, the roller being free to move axially without restraint. A helically-threaded grinding-wheel 2 is dressed by a helically-threaded crushing roller 5 freely and slidably mounted on a fixed spindle 6 supported in brackets 7 attached to a member 8 adjustable angularly, about a horizontal axis, in a member 9. This member 9 is vertically slidable, by means of screw-and-nut mechanism, on a carrying member 10 itself horizontally slidable towards and away from the grinding-wheel in the machine bed 3 by screw-and-nut mechanism 13.
