Turning.-A device for dressing grindstones consists of a spindle d carrying grooved h a r d steel rollers d<1>, supported by a sleeve c mounted on a hollow spindly a clamped on the machine when required. By means of an adjusting-screw b<4> and set screws b<2>, the spindle d is adjusted in close contact with the stone and the latter is then set moving, during which operation the rollers are traversed from side to side by means of a handle e<6> and threaded spindle e carrying a nut e<1> which is bolted to the sleeve c and carries a roller e<3> working in a slot in the spindle a.
