[Class 60.] Band apparatus. - A portable sandpapering machine consists of an endless sandpaper band c supported on two pulleys a, a<1> carried on ball bearings by spindles supported at both ends by a frame b, and provided with means for tensioning the band comprising screws d adapted to adjust the bearings b<1> of the roller al and nuts c<1> to lock the bearings.as adjusted. One of the pulleys is provided with means f for driving it from an electric motor which may be mounted on the frame; or the drive may be through a flexible shaft. The machine is operated by means of a handle or handles g, and a pad e forms a backing for the band.
