Abstract

Block, rubber and like apparatus. - A handtool for trueing journals, &c., comprises a holder a terminating in a semi-circular part b having radial guides, in which are fitted adjustable slides c having roller ends e in contact with the work. The slides are operated by screws d working in threaded holes in the part b. For grinding, a tool p is secured by a bolt o to a block i, which may be fixed in the desired position by means of a sliding wedge j, and a suitable medium is smeared on the surface of the work. The tool is further supported against chattering by pivoted members s having pins t fitting into holes in the tool and adapted to accommodate tools of different widths. In a modification, Fig. 5, the slides c have no rollers and consist of U-shaped members having bridge-pieces y, through which the controlling-screws d pass. The tool is adjustably fixed to a block i<1> operated by a screw m<1>.
