Abstract

1280422 Trueing grinding wheels LOHF & TILLIPAUL OHG 3 Feb 1970 [3 Feb 1969] 5126/70 Heading B3D A device for trueing a grinding wheel 2 comprises a trueing arm 1 movable to carry a tool 7 over the profile to be trued on the wheel, the tool consisting of a wire which has diamond fragments on its surface and is held by rotatably mounted holders 5, 6 under tension in a stirrup 4 of generally U-shape carried by the arm. at least one of the holders being rotatable by a motor 8. The arm may be controlled by a pantograph to move the tool over the profile of the grinding wheel and carries the stirrup for adjustment in the direction of the arrow A. The wire 7 is held under tension by the holders 5, 6, holder 6 being rotatable by the motor 8. A thrust bearing 10 is provided for the holder 5 and nuts 13, 14 adjust the tension in the wire. During dressing, the wire is rotated and may be reciprocated in the direction of the arrow B. The wire may have a diameter of 0À4 mm.
