593,873. Commutators for dynamoelectric machines. ROKACH, M. June 18, 1945, No. 15478. [Class 35] In a commutator with the segment held in a mass of moulded material with a metal reinforcing ring in the annular recess formed in the ends of the segments, the ring is located concentrically in the recess by three or more insulating spacers of U-section. The segments may be separated by mica. In the form shown, U-shaped insulators 32 are disposed at intervals around the reinforcing rings 26 and the open end of the channel may be turned outwards in some spacers or spacers may be used with the opening arranged radially. Instead of the spacers being introduced separately, they may constitute parts of a one-piece member introduced whole into the recess and then cut to separate the spacers before the introduction of the moulded insulation.
