931,694. Insulation for dynamo - electric machines. BROWN, BOVERI & CIE. A.G. Nov. 6, 1959 [March 19, 1959; June 10, 1959], No. 37802/59. Class 35. An electric motor stator core has a slot insulation unit which comprises a plurality of flexible open-sided slot insulating sleeves 2, 3 connected together by a flange 1 so that they may be jointly introduced into the stator slots, the sleeves being constructed to project slightly from the core ends and at the end 6 remote from the flange 1 to be of increased material thickness and flared outwardly so that they are secured against axial movement. The unit may be made of a synthetic resin by a spraying or dipping process, comprise several sectors, and the flange may have a lip 4 for preventing a supply cable, not shown, being damaged by the core edges. The sleeves may be of different sizes and closed by a synthetic resin cap 5.
