Abstract
The end turns of a stator member, wound with magnet wire enamelled with a plurality of coats of a phenol-aldehyde-modified polyvinylaldehyde resin, are coated with a phenol-aldehyde-modified polyvinyl-aldehyde resin varnish and baked. The resin varnish may contain equal parts of cresol-formaldehyde resin and polyvinyl-formaldehyde resin. The solvent may be dioxane, tetrahydrofuran, furfural, trichloroethylene, ethylene dichloride or a mixture of cresylic acid and naphtha. The coated member is either air dried or dried at not more than 100 DEG C. and then baked for 4 hours at 150 DEG C.
