Abstract

1,014,676. Dynamo-electric machine winding insulation. LICENTIA PATENT VERWALTUNGSG.m.b.H. March 6, 1963 [March 6, 1962], No. 8946/63. Heading H2A. An electrical machine having windings in slots in an iron core 5 has the winding conductors 2 insulated in situ by a method which comprises injecting into the individual slots after the windings have been positioned therein a flowable insulating medium, e.g. silicone rubber, which is introduced through flexible tubes 3 which are drawn into the slots at the same time as the conductors and whose walls are perforated at one or more points 6 in the length of the slots to allow the medium to pass into the spaces between the conductors and the core. The tubes may be slowly withdrawn from the slots as the medium is injected, but if left in may be of synthetic plastics material.
