Abstract

1420013 Rotors of dynamoelectric machines DUCELLIER & CIE 11 Jan 1973 [3 Feb 1972] 1477/73 Heading H2A A commutator 8 comprising an insulating support 10 and a set of conducting segments 9 is located in a desired position on a rotor shaft 1 by mating a polygonal shaped aperture (13, 13a, Figs. 4, 5, not shown) in an end face of the support 10 with a corresponding polygonal shaped end 7 of an insulating sleeve 6 fixed on the shaft 1, the sleeve 6 and a further sleeve 5 forming integral extensions of a moulded insulating coating 4 which envelops core laminations 2 of the rotor. The aperture (13, 13a) and the sleeve end 7 may be of prismatic shape, but are preferably of frusto-pyramid form.
