Abstract
713,152. Cooling dynamo-electric machines. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. Oct. 14, 1953 [Oct. 14, 1952], No. 25731/52. Class 35 Ducts to permit radial coolant flow are provided between the conductors and the slot walls and the conductors have grooves to allow the coolant to flow across the slot (circumferentially) the coolant being applied through an extension of the conductor slot entering by one side of the latter and leaving at the opposite side of the slot mouth. As shown, the the rotor conductors are bipartite with grooves 7, Fig. 3, and are separated by insulators 5 which have notches at close intervals along both sides to permit radial flow of hydrogen which enters by the slot extension 1 and leaves at 8.
