Abstract
596,115. Commutators for dynamoelectric machines. HOOVER, Ltd., and WILSON, C. B. July 19, 1945, No. 18538. [Class 35] A commutator is formed from a tube having a number of trough-like recesses 12 in its outer cylindrical surface which become filled with the plastic material moulded into the tube, the tube then being separated into segments by axial cuts 16 between the troughs. The tube may be formed from a bent strip and the troughs may have other shapes. A tube to fit the shaft may be moulded into the insulation.
