589,777. Safety razors. MOUCHLY, J. April 4, 1945, No. 8308. [Class 30] A safety razor is provided with a roller C, of leather, grindstone, or other honing material mounted on the guard B, so that it can be placed in either of two positions, in one of which, as shown, it serves as a guard, and in the other is in contact with the edge of the blade and may be rotated for bladesharpening purposes. The roller may be mounted in either of two sets of bearings on brackets 11 on the-guard B, and may be turned by a milled disc secured to one end of the roller, or by rolling it on a flat surface. The cover A of the razor is provided with a central screwed stud 6 engaged by the handle D, and with a pair of blade-locating studs 7, which with the stud 6 are in a line at right-angles to the cutting edge of the blade. The handle is provided with a transverse opening 16, by which, when the razor is not in use, the handle may be passed over the pin 6 to lie along the guard B.
