566,237. Dry shavers. HOARE, S. N. Nov. 4, 1944, No. 2405/43. [Class 131] A dry shaver comprises an internal cutter 18 constructed as a cylinder with a square thread 4 the edges of which comprise the cutting elements in combination with slots or apertures in a curved guard plate 14 which contacts with its internal surface the cutting elements. The cutter 18 is driven from a motor housed in the handle and is rotated in bearings in a housing 11 which is spring pressed by a spring 12 to press the cutter against the guard plate. The cutter may be formed of right- or left-hand threads or both which may be continuous or interrupted. To form both threads a left-handed groove is cut in the right-handed thread and a cutting strip is brazed in the groove. The slots in the guard plate may be of various angles.
