Abstract

569.820. Dry shavers. APPLEYARD, G. P. Sept. 18, 1943, No. 15343. [Class 131] In a shaver of the kind in which a movable cutter moves in direct contact with the surface of the skin on top of a stationary cutter the movable cutter is formed with one or more cutting edges which may be straight, curved, waved or toothed and the stationary cutter is formed with rows of perforations adapted to be crossed by the cutting edge or edges of the movable cutter. As shown the stationary cutter A is provided with rows of perforations B adjacent its periphery and with a slotted comb-like portion A<4> at one edge. In contact with and above the stationary cutter A is mounted the movable cutter E having chamfered cutting edges and one toothed edge. The movable cutter E is driven from a spindle through gears H<1>, H2 and eccentric pins D so as to give a rotary motion to the movable cutter in its own plane. In modifications the movable cutter E may be reciprocated or oscillated.
