558,703. Dry shavers. KNOWLES, F. W. Oct. 24, 1942, No. 14948. [Class 131] A dry shaver comprises an arcuate perforated shield, 1 Fig. 3, provided on a frame 2 which is pivoted on a handle 3 which is provided with one or more cutting blades 4 bearing on the inner face of the shield. In operation the shield rocks as the shaver is drawn over the surface to be shaved, the hairs penetrating the perforations of the shield 1. Fig. 6 shows a modification in which the part 9 carrying the blades 11 is movable in slots 10 in shield frame 8. A handle 12 is hinged to the part 9.
