561,951. Dry shavers. HEIDE, H. C. (Gillette Safety Razor Co.). Nov. 3, 1942, No. 15507. [Class 131] A dry shaver comprises one or more fixed blades cooperating with the skinengaging face of a. roller or curved plate adapted to be rotated or rocked by friction in contact with the skin, the roller &c. having apertures into which the hairs to be shaved project. As shown, a roller 12 having narrow slots or apertures is mounted rotatably in a U-shaped member 10 by means of a shaft 23. The blades 17 are mounted on the bevelled top of the member 10 and are carried by spring clamps 18, 19, the cutting edges of the blades being in contact with the roller. A handle member comprises finger grips 14 and side members 16 for the shaft 23, the member being secured to the member 10. In another form, the roller, which may be openended, is free to rotate on ribs arranged in the U-shaped member 10.
