Abstract

1,141,799. Razors. D. S. BURLEIGH. 13 July, 1966 [16 July, 1965 No. 30272/65. Heading B4B. In a safety razor consisting of a stem handle 1 with a shaving head comprising a platform 2, which may embody a serrated comb or guard at opposite sides, and a wafer blade 3 which has a slot to engage over a projecting bar 4 on the platform and is clamped on the platform by a clamping plate made in halves 5 pivoted by lugs 7 to the platform, the ends 6 of the halves 5 extend, both longitudinally and laterally, beyond their pivot lugs 7 sufficiently to mask the ends and corners of the blade at the ends of the shaving edges when the razor head is closed. The ends of the plate halves 5 are convexly curved in plan. The clamping plate may, alternatively, be in a single piece.
