Abstract

1279327 Dry shavers SCHICK ELECTRIC Inc 25 Nov 1969 [3 March 1969] 57593/69 Heading B4B A shaving head 50 for an electric razor comprises a shear plate 20 and a cutter 30, each having co-operable hair-receiving openings 21 and 38 respectively, the cutter being flexible and urged into contact with the shear plate so that it deforms and thereby conforms to the contours of the shear plate. As shown in Fig. 4, the cutter is initially in the form shown in chain-dotted lines, but when urged by springs 34, 35 it closely contacts the shear plate; the springs are located by legs (36, 37, Fig. 3) and projections 41 on a support bracket 40. The thickness of the shear plate increases from the centre to outer edges so that the closeness of the shave can be varied by contacting the skin with the desired area of the shaving head; in a modification, the thickness of the shear plate decreases from the centre to the outer edges.
