In a safety razor of the clamped-blade type having two or more cutting edges, the blade is. held and positioned by a single projection of grooved or recessed cvlindrical form associated either with the backing plate or the guard. In the preferred form, Figs. 1 and 2, the blade 2 has three cutting edges and the projection 5 on the backing plate is of grooved cylindrical shape and engages corresponding apertures in the blade and guard. Clamping is effected by screwing the handle 4 on to a stud 9 carried by the backing plate 1, and the handle may be cupped as shown to hide the projection 5. The angular corners of all members are rounded. Alternatively, the handle may be screwed into the cover plate. The adjusted positions of the cutting edges may vary to give varying degrees in closeness of shave.
