Abstract
910,696. Dry shavers. BRAUN A.G. March 15, 1960 [March 28, 1959], No. 9065/60. Class 131. The blade(s) and/or comb of a dry shaver are provided, at least on the cutting edges, with a coating of titanium boride, carbide or nitride. After application of the coating, the cutting face is preferably ground down to the base metal. As shown, blade 1 (Fig. 1) is provided with coating 2 and then ground down to line 3. Further grinding may be effected to produce hollow face 4 (Fig. 2). Fig. 5 shows a comb 7 in which coating 2 extends inside holes 8. Figs. 6 and 7 (not shown) relate to a comb with raised hole edges, the coatings on which are subsequently ground down.
