Abstract

548,789. Holders for razor blades. WILLIAMSON, G. V. Sept. 11, 1941, No. 11631. [Classes 60 and 61 (i)] A holder for unflexed safety-razor blades during stropping, or when used for purposes such as stripping paper is provided with studs which engage the holes in the blade, and are formed with aligned holes for receiving a withdrawable wire or rod. The holder shown in Fig. 1 is used for holding a blade 14 during stropping, and comprises a hollow handle 1, and a head having a flat part 4, and a bend 5 which covers one edge of the blade and serves also to determine the inclination of the blade on the strop. The part 4 is formed with projections or studs 6 ... 8 having holes receiving a wire 10 connected to a button 13 which is guided by a slot 3 in the handle. The studs 7, 8, 9 are passed through the holes in the blade, and the wire is then pushed through the holes in those studs by means of the button. For use in stripping paper, a blade is mounted on a holder consisting of a handle, and a T-head having studs which engage the holes in the blade, and are formed with holes for a withdrawable wire.
