In a safety razor of the type described in Specification 192,316, the blade holder S is formed with a back or spine S<1> of less length than the blade b, the rear edge of which has rearwardly extending shoulders b<1> which engage the ends of the spine; the ends of the holder are chamfered outwards from the spine so that the guard edge s<2> is equal in length to the edge of the blade. The blade is clamped against the top part of the blade holder by a screw on a post A carried by the handle.
