Abstract

146,052. Green, H. J. Jan. 8, 1920. Razors, safety. The blade e, Fig. 1, is carried in a holder f pivotally mounted on a frame c, which is itself pivoted to the guard frame b. The back of the frame b has a transverse slot h, in which rides a slide i, Figs. 1 and 2, which may have antifriction sleeves &c. r and engages also an inclined slot j in the frame c. Movement of the slide i along the slot h causes the frame c to turn and the blade to advance towards or recede from the teeth of the guard. The frame c is held against the slide i by the pressure of blade or spiral springs preferably applied in the same direction as the pressure brought to bear upon the frame during shaving. When retracted, the blade can be turned back on its pivot g and held in the stropping position by a blade-spring engaging a notch in the holder f.
