Abstract

461,525. Safety razors. GILLETTE SAFETY RAZOR CO. March 10, 1936, No.. 7261. Convention date, Sept. 9, 1935. [Class 30] In razors having a cap comprising two pivoted sections 24, the closing up of the parts and the clamping of the blade are effected by a spring 29. The sections are pivoted by means of lugs 25 to arms 22 forming part of a bar 19 pivoted to a slidable stem 18. When a milled disc 31 is turned, an eccentric pin 33 raises a tongue 27 and the stem 18 with the result that the bar 19 lifts up the blade and the sections 24 are thrown back, Fig. 4, owing to the contact of cam pieces 26 on the lugs 25 with the corners of the guard comb and the rising of the pivots. When the disc 31 is returned to former position, the spring pulls down the bar 19 and lugs 22 and the sections 24 fall inwardly with a snap and bend the blade into shaving position.
