[Class 6 (iii)] A scythe blade having a strengthening strip 3 secured in a gryst or off-set portion 2 is slotted near the tip so that the strip may be passed through the underside and the blade seated and secured in a shallow recess 3a. A rib 6 or the like strengthens the blade near the slot 5, and the strip 3 preferably extends beyond the tip of the blade.
